Please join us as members and friends of the International Monarchist League, Los Angeles Chapter gather to commemorate 362nd anniversary of the murder of King Charles I of England, Scotland, and Ireland. This special event will take place at the historic Anglican parish of St. Mary of the Angels, Los Feliz and will be immediately followed by a champagne reception.
BACKGROUND
The unlawful trial and subsequent murder of King Charles I in January 1649 was one of the single most evil and horrific crimes in English history. (Read this account of King Charles' death as prepared by the Society of King Charles the Martyr. http://www.skcm.org/SCharles/Martyrdom/martyrdom.html)
Today, the martyrdom of King Charles I is remembered in places throughout Great Britain and North America, and with particular fervour in certain quarters of the Anglican Church. The Los Angeles Chapter of the Monarchist League will gather not only to commemorate this good and noble king but also to mark the re-establishment of the League's presence here in Southern California. We hope you'll join us!
NOTE: This event is open to the public, but advance reservations are required!
