A Tradition of Pro-Monarchy Activism
The chief mission and purpose of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Monarchist League is three-fold: To defend, educate, and advocate on behalf of Monarchy everywhere. Particularly important is our goal of educating the American public both as to the benefit of Monarchy overseas and the debt we ourselves owe the institution here at home. Certainly the anti-monarchical prejudice which has dominated our foreign policy since we have become an international "superpower" has led to untold losses of blood and treasure for ourselves and many others throughout the world.
In the United States there is little we value in terms of political, cultural, and religious institutions that do not owe their origins to the care and patronage of various foreign monarchs for their subjects in this country. This great patrimony, which is all but ignored today, is nevertheless as much a part of our everyday lives than the bloody inheritance of 1776. The Founding Fathers themselves could not have accomplished their work without the experience and education they initially acquired in the service of their rightful King.

TO PROMOTE
To promote the cause of Monarchy as well as Monarchy's causes is a key aim of the League. The work and influence of Monarchy, as an institution, extends beyond mere government and does in fact touch upon many other aspects of civil society. From education, the arts, science, the military, healthcare, families, and community cohesion, Monarchy exists for the good of all classes and backgrounds. While often limited in terms of real political power, monarchs can and do affect the happiness and well-being of their people through the work of various institutions, charities, and programs. It is the intention of the Monarchist League to lend material support to these charitable programs as much as possible through our own fundraising efforts.
It is also the League's mission promote the restoration of Monarchy in various countries that, until recently, had them only to be overthrown by armed conflict or replaced with other forms of government in an ultimately failed "democratic" experiment. In recent years, countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Georgia have shown encouraging and promising openness to the idea of a return to Monarchy.
TO DEFEND
While invading hordes and rival kingdoms are now a matter of history, Monarchy today is still very much under attack in various places around the world. Perhaps the most insidious threat to Monarchy comes from those who repeat the tired claim that it is an outdated, unfair, anti-democratic, and ineffective form of government. To modern sensibilities, such claims are seemingly valid and egregious.
By their very nature, Monarchies today must exist above and beyond the party political fray. Their defence, therefore, largely falls to loyal subjects and other supporters who, more often than not, are dismissed by the political classes as powerless and irrelevant. Wherever Monarchies and sovereigns are the subject of unfair and unjust attack, be it in the media, academia, or other corridors of influence -- the Monarchist League is there to set the record straight and to vociferously champion and defend an institution that history has shown to be vital to the success of civilisation.
TO EDUCATE and ADVOCATE
Perhaps the greatest task for any organisation dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the monarchical principle is the education of others as to the unique value, necessity, and utility of Monarchy in today's world. Here in the United States, a country whose very origins lie in the rejection of a king, the argument in favour of Monarchy seems a strange one indeed. Yet, as has been said elsewhere, Americans owe a particular debt of gratitude to the various crowned heads whose patronage and generosity built up the considerable cultural and historical patrimony this country now enjoys. Other countries, too, sometimes suffer from a kind of collective ignorance of
Monarchy has a very real value to the people it serves. The Monarchist League hopes to better impart a knowledge and appreciation of this value through a number of different educational initiatives, including various lectures, debates, publications, and other educational resources such as those provided on this website.
